PLAN YOUR VISIT AS A FAMILY
We’d Love to Worship With Your Family
Visiting a new church can feel a little uncertain, especially when you are thinking not only about yourself but about your whole family. We want to make that first visit easier by helping you know what to expect before you arrive. Sandy Plains is a place where ordinary people gather around the ordinary means of grace, and we would be genuinely glad to welcome you.
WHAT TO EXPECT AS A FAMILY
A Welcoming Church Family
When you arrive at Sandy Plains, you can expect to be greeted warmly. We are not a large congregation, and that is one of the things many people appreciate most. It does not take long to begin recognizing faces, learning names, and feeling like you are among people who are glad you came.
We know visiting somewhere new takes a little courage. There is no pressure here to perform, pretend, or have everything figured out. We simply want to receive you kindly and worship the Lord together.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU COME
Come As You Are
There is no dress code at Sandy Plains. Some folks will be dressed up, others will be more casual, and nobody is keeping score. We care far more about coming before the Lord with reverence and faith than about trying to impress one another.

OUR LORD’S DAY WORSHIP
Reverent, Warm, and Word-Centered
Our worship is simple, reverent, and centered on Christ. We sing together, pray together, read Scripture together, and sit under the preaching of God’s Word together. We are not trying to create a performance; we are gathering as God’s people to meet with Him in the way He has commanded.
The preaching at Sandy Plains is expository, which means we work through books of the Bible passage by passage. Our aim is not to entertain but to hear, believe, and obey what God has said. A typical service lasts about an hour and includes singing, prayer, Scripture reading, preaching, and the offering.
SINGING TOGETHER
What Our Church Family Sings
Our congregation sings a blend of psalms, hymns, and faithful songs that are rich in biblical truth. We want our music to help the whole congregation — including our children — learn to confess the faith together with joy, reverence, and understanding.
From time to time we also include special music from members of the congregation. We try to share songs ahead of time on our Facebook page as well, so families can become familiar with what we will be singing on the Lord’s Day.
FOR YOUR FAMILY
What About My Children?

Absolutely. Our expectation is that families worship together, and we are glad to have children in the service. Normal kid noises do not offend us.
Before worship at 10:00 AM, we have a children’s Sunday School class that slowly walks through Scripture and catechism in an age-appropriate way. We are not trying to entertain kids out of the way; we are helping them learn to listen to God’s Word and know they are a real part of this congregation.
ABOUT GIVING
Do Visitors Need to Give?
No. The offering is for those who call Sandy Plains their church home. Visitors are not expected to give; we are simply glad you are with us in worship.
